CapitanGamers Story
Chapter 2
The sound of waves moving, colliding with the shore.
I once read a story…
I don’t know when. It feels as though the wind carried it to me and let it settle on my head—then, little by little, it was pulled inside me.
A hero who had no rival… whose only weakness was himself.
In that city, they no longer wanted a hero.
They no longer loved him.
Those who had once stretched out their hands, begging for his help,
moved past those days..and decided, this time with those same hands, to drag him down.
A hero who, even the pain of being unwanted could not stop him from helping them…
in the end, he was crushed beneath their weight, all so they could save themselves.
After that day, the only thing that ever cleaned the hero’s gravestone
was the spit people hurled at his memory.
From here on, the sea began to break the silence.
As if, instead of silencing everything else, it made the other sounds louder… clearer.
What her smile looks like…?
We haven’t had any serious training for a few days now.
Master has left us alone, it’s.. not like him.
Everyone is busy with something.
Arvin, as always, is either sleeping or talking to himself.
Reny is training, running endlessly through the corridors.
And sai… one night I saw him through the crack of his door, painting..?! I wouldn’t have thought he had that much emotion in him.
And Ronya… honestly, she's usually busy with her usual habits.. teasing me! but lately She's been wandering around the courtyard more than usual.
You see Her there one moment, and the next, when you look again, She's gone.
She’s probably found some place of his own.
At least She’s stopped messing with my Circle…
*The sharp snap of a pen breaking.
Ah… just what I needed.!
I pressed too hard.!
I left the room to get some air, heading to my usual spot.
I could hear Her footsteps nearby.
Whenever I look at the city, I can’t help but wonder what’s really happening there.
Why are we different?
Why are they different from us?
Why must our lives be so painfully separate?
Lost in these thoughts, I noticed a familiar face in the distance.
Ronya was watching me walking closer.
I turned my head back toward the city…
and suddenly a shadow rushed at me and slammed into my side.
We fell together onto the grass.
+ “Why?”
- “Because you were lost in your head.”
+ “So every time someone’s thinking, you attack them? Are we not allowed a little peace?”
-“No. You don’t have that right,” She said, laughing.
+ “I see you’re in a good mood. What happened?”
- “Does something have to happen?”
+ “I don’t know… feels like something did.”
We lay there, staring at the sky.
The wind moved gently through our hair.
- “By the way… thanks for that night.”
+ “I don’t remember doing anything.”
* She punched my shoulder lightly.
- “Yeah, sure.! Where.. did you even get it?”
+ “You said you wanted it. I brought it for you. Does it matter how?”
- “If it were something ordinary, no.”
+ “Ordinary things are for ordinary people.”
…
Even without turning my head.. only staring at the sky...I could tell She had turned toward me, looking only at me.
- “You’re strange.”
+ “And you’re perfectly normal, I suppose?”
- “I’m not as strong as you. Not as emotional. Not as smar..”
* I didn’t let Her finish. I held a finger up to Her lips.
+ “You don’t need to insult yourself just to compliment me.
Not you... Of all people.”
+ “You’re the most incredible person I’ve ever known.”
A silence filled only by the sound of the wind.
+ “I don’t like it when you talk about yourself like that.”
- “Now you understand, just a little, what I have to put up with from you.”
+ “But I haven’t lied.”
- “No. You just say nonsense.”
We stayed quiet, staring at the sky.
Nothing more was said.
After a while, we got up to head back to our rooms.
“Take care of yourself,” I said, going up the stairs.
“I should be saying that to yo...”
She stumbled, and I caught him from behind.
“Thank God I’m not as reckless as you, walking ahead like that.
Otherwise you’d have hurt yourself by now.”
She turned his head away, unimpressed, and continued on.
At our doors, I waved to Her...like I always do.
She waved back.
And now !
Me… and my quiet, empty room.
